The wavy ridges of the Jura stretch from Basel to the Lake of Geneva – the mysterious, isolated from the big routes, landscapes that pull any traveller in. When one thinks of the Jura, they think about fir forest, lonely plateaus, grasing horses and spectacular view points. Other parts of the Jura include the granary of Ajoie, the valley of the Doubs with the jewel St. Ursanne, La Chaux-de-Fonds with its checker board street pattern, the busy Val de Travers, the caves of Vallorbe, the enchanting Lac de Joux, the world of luxury watch makers in the “Watch Valley” and finally the glorious vineyards along the Lake of Geneva.
Individual arrival in Basel
With the bustle of Basel still in your ears, climb the first Jura heights, find your stride along the richly wooded waters of La Lucelle, the Swiss-French border, and dive into the gently rolling Ajoie countryside.
