A Road Cycling Journey Through the Mountains, Villages and Coast of Northern Sardinia
Cycle through Northern Sardinia between the coast and the island’s quieter interior, taking in the Goceano mountain range, cork oak forests, granite landscapes, Monte Albo, Nuragic heritage and historic towns. From the coastal road south of Alghero and the turquoise waters of Tavolara to the forests of Limbara and medieval Posada, this road cycling journey reveals a varied side of Sardinia, combining mountain landscapes, rural villages and coastal scenery.
Choose Between a Self-Guided or Guided Cycling Experience
This North Sardinia road cycling holiday is available in two formats, allowing you to choose how you want to experience the island. The self-guided option combines independent cycling with prepared route information, luggage transfers and telephone assistance, giving you the freedom to ride at your own pace. The guided option adds two local English-speaking guides, a support van and a fuller meal package, including dinners and picnic lunches.
Both options follow the six-stage road cycling route around Northern Sardinia, while the starting direction and logistics vary according to the format selected.

ROUTE
The route forms a journey through the different landscapes of Northern Sardinia, connecting the ancient Catalan town of Alghero with the mountain areas of Goceano and Limbara, the inland villages of Pattada and Posada, and the coastal towns of Olbia and Castelsardo. Along the way, the route passes Lake Temo, Foresta Burgos, the Nuragic complex of Su Romanzesu, Monte Albo, Capo Coda Cavallo, Tavolara, the cork-producing area around Calangianus and Tempio Pausania, Valle della Luna and the rolling hills of Anglona.
The experience is as much about discovering Sardinia as it is about covering the route. The journey follows a circular itinerary through Northern Sardinia, offering opportunities to experience local Sardinian traditions, including regional specialities and, in Olbia, the possibility of enjoying local food accompanied by a glass of Vermentino.
