Ride through changing landscapes as the Morava River guides the journey from the northern mountains towards the warmer southern regions. Along the way, discover historic towns, traditional villages, castles and the distinctive landscapes of the Moravian countryside. Choose the format that suits you best: enjoy the freedom of a self-guided cycling holiday or join the guided group option with a tour leader and additional support along the route.

ROUTE

The route follows the Morava River from the Jeseníky mountains through the heart of Moravia, passing through historic towns, quiet countryside and traditional villages before reaching the southern Moravian wine region. Along the way, the journey includes highlights such as Olomouc, Kroměříž and the Lednice-Valtice area, combining mostly easy cycling with cultural heritage, riverside landscapes and the distinctive scenery of Moravia.

Guided experience

The guided format lets you enjoy the Morava River route with the support of a tour leader throughout the journey. With a support minibus, technical assistance, first aid, water and refreshments included, you can focus on cycling and discovering Moravia with the group.

Itinerary

Day 1: Prague to Horní Morava

Transfer from Prague to Horní Morava, where the cycling tour begins. After arriving, check in at the hotel and prepare your bike for the stages ahead.

Day 2: Horní Morava to Šumperk

35 km / 21 miles

Follow the Morava River through the northern Moravian countryside. The route includes one longer uphill section with around 200 m of elevation gain, while the surrounding area offers opportunities to discover historic defence bunkers and stop at the Holba brewery in Hanušovice.

Day 3: Šumperk to Olomouc

63 km / 38 miles

Cycle through the Desná River valley on quieter roads and paths, passing through river forests and the town of Úsov, with its Renaissance château. Continue to Litovel, known as the Venice of Haná, before reaching Olomouc, a historic city famous for its Holy Trinity Column, Baroque architecture and cathedral.

Day 4: Olomouc to Kroměříž

45 km / 27 miles

Ride through the Moravian countryside towards Kroměříž, passing the picturesque village of Tovačov and its Renaissance château. The stage ends in Kroměříž, known for its Renaissance architecture, Archbishop’s Château and Květná Garden, part of its UNESCO World Heritage status.

Day 5: Kroměříž to Strážnice

60–74 km / 36–45 miles

Follow the Morava River on dedicated cycling paths and quiet roads, with sections alongside the Baťa Canal. The route passes near Otrokovice and Napajedla, continues through Velehrad and Staré Město, and finishes in Strážnice, a historic town known for its folklore traditions.

Day 6: Strážnice to Valtice

64–71 km / 38–42 miles

Continue south on mostly paved cycling paths, following the Morava River and briefly crossing into Slovakia. Pass the historic wine cellars of Plže, continue through Hodonín and small villages, and visit highlights such as Pohansko before reaching Valtice near the Austrian border.

Day 7: Valtice to Lednice to Prague

23 km / 14 miles

Cycle from Valtice to Lednice, following mostly paved cycling paths through the UNESCO-listed Lednice-Valtice area. Explore the impressive Lednice Château and its beautiful gardens before returning to Valtice. In the afternoon, transfer by shuttle to Prague.

Day 8: Prague

The tour ends after breakfast in Prague.

Getting to Prague (Departure Point)

By Plane: Prague Airport (PRG) has international connections. From the airport, reach central Prague by public transport or taxi.

On the first day, Self-Guided participants are picked up at Prague Airport, while Guided participants are picked up at their designated hotel in Prague. Followed by a transfer to the cycling start point in Horní Morava.

20% of the tour price if cancelled 30 or more days before tour departure.

Important to know: Interrupting the holiday after the departure will not qualify for refund. We strongly recommend to contract a cancellation policy through Bravo Bike.

Self-Guided
Cycle independently at your own pace, following the planned route with route book, maps and GPS tracks. Luggage transfers and all scheduled transfers are included. There is no tour leader or support vehicle during the cycling stages.

Guided Group
Cycle the same route as part of a guided group with a tour leader and additional support throughout the journey. The guided option also includes a support minibus, technical assistance, first aid, water and refreshments.

Route Flexibility
Itineraries may be adjusted due to weather, mechanical issues, border restrictions, illness or other unforeseen circumstances. Suitable alternatives will be arranged where possible.

Bike rental: available for touring bikes, e-bikes, road/gravel bikes and fitness bikes at an additional cost.

Extra nights: before or after the tour.

Local Tourist Tax
Local tax is payable directly at the accommodation, at approximately €1–2 per person per night. We recommend carrying some cash in euros or the local currency to cover this expense.

Transfers included:

Pick-up from Prague Airport (Self-Guided) or your hotel in Prague (Guided) on the first day, followed by a transfer to the cycling start point in Horní Morava.
Return transfer from the end of the cycling route to Prague.

Luggage transfer between accommodations and bicycle transport are included.

Bike rental is available for the entire duration of the tour.

The rental price includes a handlebar bag (standard bikes only), a waterproof rear pannier upon request, a lock, a repair kit for self-guided tours, and a helmet. A new cycling water bottle is also available to order in advance at an additional cost.

Additional cycling accessories are available for rental or purchase, subject to availability: GPS device, mobile holder and detailed maps.

Moderate
The tour is rated Moderate, with a mix of mostly easy cycling and some more demanding sections along the route. The Guided Group option includes a support minibus during the cycling stages, offering additional flexibility if you need a break from cycling.

Bikes are not insured against theft or damage.
