Route
The route covers approximately 178 km through the Kvarner Bay and the Istrian Peninsula, combining coastal roads, quiet side roads and varied island landscapes. From Omišalj on Krk, the journey heads towards Rabac on the Istrian coast before continuing through Cres, Rab and Krk. Highlights include the climb towards Labin, the historic old town of Rab, the varied landscapes of Krk and the hilltop town of Vrbnik, surrounded by vineyards and known for its Žlahtina white wine. The route also includes the smaller island of Ilovik, adding a quieter island experience to the journey.
Cycling stages generally range from 20 to 45 km per day, with hilly terrain and ascents of up to around 400 metres. Most roads are paved, with some gravel and forest sections on Krk and a narrow seaside promenade on Lošinj. There are no dedicated cycling paths in the Kvarner Bay, so routes mainly follow public roads and quieter side streets.
