Discover Slovenia’s Landscapes, Culture and Coast by Bike
From the alpine scenery of Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj to the historic streets of Ljubljana, the limestone landscapes of the Karst and the Adriatic coast, this cycling tour brings together many of Slovenia’s defining places in one journey. Along the way, the route combines lakes, mountains, valleys, historic towns, caves and coastal landscapes, offering a broad introduction to the country’s natural and cultural diversity.
A Self-Guided Way to Experience Slovenia
This self-guided cycling holiday gives you the freedom to discover Slovenia at your own pace while the practical details are organised for you. Prepared routes, GPS navigation, luggage transfers and local support allow you to focus on the journey, with time to explore the places and landscapes along the route independently.

ROUTE
The route crosses Slovenia from the Alpine landscapes around Bled and Bohinj towards Ljubljana, then continues through the Ljubljansko Barje, the Karst and the Vipava region before reaching the Adriatic coast. The journey also crosses into Italy, with a final stretch from Muggia to Piran along the coastal route. Most of the cycling is on regional country roads and cycleways, with 95% of the route on asphalt or paved surfaces.
As a self-guided tour, you can follow the prepared routes at your own pace, using GPS navigation and route information while your luggage is transferred between accommodations. The itinerary combines quieter countryside riding with sections through towns and cities, allowing you to explore Slovenia independently without having to organise the daily logistics yourself.
