From Berlin through the Oder region to the Baltic Sea
From the waterways north of Berlin to the Baltic coast, this journey brings together some of northern Germany’s most distinctive landscapes and historic places. Forests, canals, the Oder valley and the islands of Usedom and Rügen create a varied backdrop, with Szczecin, Peenemünde, Putbus and Stralsund adding cultural and architectural highlights along the way.
A relaxed way to discover northern Germany by bike
The bike and boat format combines active days with time to enjoy the journey from the water. As a self-guided tour, it gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace, following prepared routes with daily briefings, detailed directions and GPS tracks.

ROUTE
From Berlin, the route passes through the Ruppiner Lake District and Eberswalde before reaching the Oder and Lower Oder Valley. It continues via Szczecin and Usedom, with Zinnowitz and Peenemünde, then crosses Rügen through Putbus and historic villages to Stralsund.
The bike route is mostly flat, with some hilly sections and a few steeper climbs and descents. You will mainly ride on car-free paths, quiet rural roads and asphalted cycle lanes, with some field and dirt tracks, short sections on federal roads, cobblestones and sandy surfaces.
