Avila by bike – full-day Cycling tour

Home to the Catholic mystic Saint Teresa, as well as the most perfectly preserved, and impressive, medieval wall in Europe, Ávila should not be missed on your travels around Spain, and the perfect spot for a full-day, guided bike tour.

The adventure starts at our office in Madrid. From there, we’ll drive up to the surrounding countryside, then jump on bikes and make our way into Ávila. Entering through one of the medieval gates, we’ll ride through the ancient, cobblestoned streets, taking in countless Gothic churches, palaces, and fortresses. Our guides will show you the history and splendour that have made Ávila a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For lunch, we’ll stop at a restaurant for some delicious, local cuisine. Before heading back to Madrid, there’ll be time to have a closer look at some Renaissance art, and go for a wander along the ramparts of the famous medieval wall.
All bikes and equipment, transport to and from Ávila, lunch, and entry tickets to the sights are included in the price.

Being a full-day tour, you should be in reasonable shape and comfortably able to cycle 35km or so.
