We’ll meet in the morning at our office, located near Templo de Debod and Plaza de España. From there we comfortably travel by private van to Segovia, just an hour away from Madrid nestled north of the mountain range called the Sierra de Guadarrama. Segovia is a beautiful medieval city full of history dating back to Celtiberian times and waiting for us to discover it by bicycle (electric bikes also available by request). It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
The Plan [showhide type=»links1″ more_text=»Read More» less_text=»Hide»]
We’ll drive up to La Granja, a stunning 18th-century palace just outside Segovia, enjoying the fresh mountain air. After exploring the grounds and gardens we’ll jump on our bikes and head into the city. During the 12th and 17th centuries, prosperity brought about the building of many churches, convents, strongholds, palaces and other architectural and monumental elements we can still enjoy nowadays. Once we’ve worked up an appetite, we know the perfect spot for a classic Segovian lunch. Lunch is the most important meal in Spain, and it shows. The sobremesa is the charming practice of sitting around the table after the meal and chatting with friends, relaxing and letting your lunch digest a bit before carrying on with your day.
After lunch, there’ll be time to go inside the Alcázar, a fairy-tale castle and fortress, as well as several other sights in and around the city like the city walls, the Aqueduct, the Jewish Quarter, and a few churches. The tour ends with a gentle ride along the Clamores and Eresma rivers after which we head back to the van and drive to Madrid.
